I have travelled with BA a few times on long haul flights and on holidays to China and Bermuda. Originally the flights didn't rival Virgin as they had no seat back TVs, food was pretty ropey and the service wasn't exciting. Perhaps BA have trained their staff as this has improved with courtesy and helpfulness top on the list. Seats seem to be a little bit more spaced out than Virgin so I could stretch my legs. I have always enjoyed travel and getting things for nothing,(prehaps you are the same?) and so I absolutely LOVE the chance to travel for nothing. By happy coincidence BA is both my favorite airline and one of the most generious when it comes to giving things away. BA has a policy of charging its customers a premium rate when it can get away with it, but it is prepared to be very cheap when it has to because there is nothing more expensive for an airline than an empty seat. It is possible to get free filghts with some of these methods but they work better with hollidays. Before you do anything, log on to the BA website and put yourself on to the mailing ...

Shortly after my mother died, I decided to take a holiday to the USA. I intended to go by myself as a complete break from everything that had happened the few months before and to get away from work. I was in two minds as to where I should go - Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston or New York. I couldn't decide having looked at lots of brochures. Eventually my dad noticed that British Airways Holidays had a New York to Hollywood by coach package that lasted just over 18 days.
