Booking airline tickets is on of the things I hate most about travelling, and for some reason I always think of every other travel agency in the world before I think of trying Flight Centre. And yet, despite this, I can honestly say they have been able to help me out every time I have eventually remembered them. In fact I used them a few days ago, and despite being approx. 10 pounds dearer than the best quote I had got, I booked through them purely because they ahd been so much more helpful than anywhere else. These guys really do hunt down the best fares for you and will try different routes to get cheaper fares.
I have never challenged their lowest prices guarantee, so I would not vouch for that, but for service alone they are highly recommended.
If you ewant to save money on your air travel, give these guys a try. If you don't, don't.
