great for kids, but busy and dirty (Haven Holidays in general)

I took my 2 year old daughter, my friend and her 1 year old to Golden Sands at beginning of september. First impressions were good, reception clean and tidy. staff were helpful. We were forwarded to falcon club room to collect keys. This is were my first thoughts were banished!

We booked a silver 8 berth caravan, so we could check in early (2pm). We had to wait till at least 2.30 to get keys. The queues were massive, the room stank stale, the seats, carpet etc were absolutly filthy. My daughter nearly got knocked out when a chair was banged into her head.

Anyway we finally got to our caravan and that also was filthy, pans were missing, definatly not enough to cook a proper meal with (but thats probably intentional, to get you to buy food from them). But i thought i will try and grin and bear it.

Time to put kids to bed, I paid extra for a cot, which was just a metal frame plonked on to a bed the screwed into the wall. My friends son who is quite strong was nearly pulling the wall down!! He was up half the night as the temperature in that room was freezing.

I went to reception next morning to discuss the problems i had, the woman i spoke to tried to dismiss all the complaints i had, but eventually offered me another van.

Well i have never seen anything like it in my life. It was worst than the first! rubbish underbeds, cobwebs, hair in shower and it stank!

So they took me to look at another, this was still not great, but after wasting half the day, they agreed to get the cleaners in. and i moved in later that day.

The shop is very expensive so if you can get into mablethorpe, do all your shopping there.
