Haven Holidays - LAKELAND - avoid at all costs (Haven Holidays in general)
Member Name: Julesvee
Advantages: In the Lake District Disadvantages: Expensive, dirty,rip-off.
We have just returned from the worst holiday, at Lakeland Haven (South Lake District). We paid £499 for a week with 2 of our children, and booked so called "superior plus" level of accomodation, meaning we had beds made on arrival and a newer van for our holiday. On arrival, we had to find our un-numbered van in the dark and then found our beds not made and no linen either to even make them ourselves. We had to wait over an hour for out of hours security to find us bedlinen and even then there was not enough for the beds we needed. When complaining at reception next day, they were not interested at all. Our van had not been hoovered, the chairs were ripped and dirty, the boiler was faulty and kept losing pressure so we had no hot water, we had no TV socket (it was hanging off the wall) and then no lead either so weren't able to watch TV all week ( which when you have one there and the children are in bed, you want to relax). The mattress in main bedroom actually had the springs coming through the mattress, and the whole van was filthy. The joke was they actually smuggly informed us we had been upgraded to "prestige" accomodation as if we should be grateful. The site was tired, run down and dirty. The food was very over-priced and all microwaved or deep-fried, and the reception just didn't want to know if you had problems. Summary: Would never ever recommend to anyone |
