HAVEN LAKELAND -NEAR GRANGE OVER SANDS CUMBRIA
Returned yesterday from above haven camp, with my husband and 2 kids, we had gone to meet halfway with my husbands parents as they live in Scotland.Arrived at check in at 2:20pm and was told would be unable to check in until 4:00 , hung around with 2 tired irritated kids for 4:00pm check in to be told that there was a problem with flooding in the area of caravans we were allocated and to go and have a look and we could be allocated another park if unhappy, we could have been told this at 2:30.On driving to our caravan the road down was under water and from the smell it was obviously sewerage. We returned to reception and told that the park was fully booked and the only alternate park was Ayr a 4 hour drive. We returned to the caravan only to find it still being cleaned and to give them 30 mins as it was filthy. To get into the caravan we had to park the car right outside and form a chain to get the luggage in due to all the water. The carpet was filthy thick with dirty mud marks, shabby looking interior the bedsprings dug in and the state of the curtains disgustingly dirty and tea in teapot still from previous occupier . Later that night till after midnight tankers were noisly pumping away the water. Had to purchase wellies just to get around the site and very little to do in the rain. It was Lakeland quite literally!!!!!!
