Advantages: all on the park
Disadvantages: very hilly
July of this year I visited Devon cliffs Holiday Park in Exmouth. As we entered the park I was pleasantly surprised how much it looked like the brochure, wow!!!! We proceeded to the reception to get our keys ( a slow process I have to say, but they were very busy so we will let them off!!) THE CARAVAN... Very nice... 3 bedrooms, nice size kitchen and a balcony with patio table and chairs. There was plenty of car space too with room left for the kids to play ball. THE PARK..... So much to do where do I start, we start at the reception and work our way round ( you get a map, but its a little hard to understand). So... we have a reception( very nice), a well stocked shop ( very expensive),a launderette (boring, but essential),a joke shop, sweet shop, photo shop and a place to buy various tickets for tours etc. There is 3 arcades, 2 good ones and 1 very empty room, which is called the games room (I have no idea why, maybe you have to bring your own!!) A small but reasonable fair is situated opposite the arcades and is open from about 4.00pm onwards. whoops... I nearly forgot the crazy golf (a holiday necessity), 3 sports courts, a doctor’s surgery, a take away hall, and 3 clubs and a great swimming pool with slides and flumes. By the way I think I should mention that the park is very hilly!! THE FOOD.... There is a main food hall which sells allsorts of different take always, Chinese, pizza, fish and chips, sandwiches and many more. It is a little over priced and I have to say not very nice (sorry haven, but its true). THE NIGHTLIFE.... There are 3 clubs, 2 tiger clubs for the kids where they get to play loads of different games, completions and they get to meet rosary the tiger (yippee), and there is a cabaret club for adults (although children are allowed in on selected nights). The cabaret was very enjoyable, but you do have to arrive early for a good seat.
>THE BEACH.... The park has its own beach (which we could see from the caravan), not a bad beach as long as you don’t mind the seaweed (lots of it when we where there). There are plenty of rock pools to explore and the sea looked very clean. The only downside I could find was it was quite a steep walk to the beach... and one hell of a climb back up!!!! but other than that a safe, clean beach. THE TOWN OF EXMOUTH.... A small seaside town, with a few cafes, a few arcades..Oh and there’s a great adventure park for the kids and only £1 to get in, its got giant slides, climbing frames, paddling boats, some rabbits and many more things. Exmouth has a huge tesco which is worth a visit for all your food etc. All in it was a great holiday, plenty to do, and affordable.
