Advantages: You get the whole package, Direct charter to Greek islands

Disadvantages: Appalling UK customer service, You can end up in a tourist enclave, Smug, 'no-speak-Greek' reps

Used Kosmar for years - cheap/cheerful packages to loads of Greek locations. Took advantage of early booking discounts - tolerated countless flight and accommodation changes prior to departures. We'd booked more than 12 months ago - my job and the travel to it were becoming intolerable - I was approached with an unmissable offer of better job, more money, close to home - I accepted it. New job meant I couldn't possibly take my leave when planned. Contacted Kosmar 5 months ahead to ask if, as gesture of goodwill/our being v. good customers etc., they would allow us to move dates (not cancel!) without charge. They flatly refused. We wrote again several times and were ignored. We phoned and I said what bad customer relations this was (we buy 2/4 weeks every year with them) - very cavalier in their attitude - even insulted on phone by 1 staff member.

Eventually cancelled both this May holiday and subsequently cancelled Aug holiday also with Kosmar. We've lost £160 but that's the last money Kosmar will ever have from us.

Kosmar reps we encountered only ever wanted to sell trips and hire cars at Welcome Meetings and they rarely spoke anything like conversational Greek!

You'll be fine with such packages provided nothing goes wrong!
