An interesting and educating trip (Leger Holidays)

Advantages: Knowledgable tour guide, competitive prices

In October 2007 my father and I went on Leger's 'All Quiet on the Western Front' 4 day WW1 Battlefields tour. We were picked up locally in a luxury coach, before being transfered to our tour coach at Dover, all of which went smoothly. The staff of both coaches were friendly and helpful.

Once in Belgium we picked up our tour guide who had just finished another tour. From the start he was friendly and very helpful, answering everyones questions and pointing out interesting things along the way. Instructions were given out for each day and recommendations on food/drink and outings.

The tour guide was very knowledgable and included the history of the run up to the days, months and years before the war so that we got the whole story and understood what had happened and why. He made it very interesting and involved some of us in his talks. He took time to talk to us all over the 4 day trip to find out why we were there and would help if there was something we wanted to find out.

I learnt more over those 4 days than I'd learnt in 5 years of taking history at school. I would certainly contemplate going on another tour organised by Leger. First class!
