The cheapest?? (Lunn Poly)

Advantages: There are some great deals, especially the price breakers, very helpful staff, can look on the internet site too!

Disadvantages: Not always the cheapest, very expensive insurance

Lunn Poly claims never to be beaten on price by anyone and if they are that they will equal it. Well, this seemes like some claim to me and I decided to go and investigate. I was looking to book my holiday to Mexico at the time and knew roughly what I was looking at for my specifications. I arrived at the store and told them what I was looking for and they managed to find me a price breaker deal which are from what I gather very good deals indeed, infact they won't even be broken and for 2 weeks in Cancun, 4 star all inclusive for £599 I was very inclined to agree. We booked the holiday, paid their expensive holiday insurance prices and off we went.

We had a great holiday and I decided when I wanted to go to Tenerife to see a friend and needed a flight that they would be my first port of call. They quoted me nearly £400 for a flight for 2 weeks at which I was astonished and they assured me that it was the best that they could do. I wasn't happy and decided to go and use Ceefax when I got home. I managed through one company to get a flight for £160 which was a great deal better. I went back to Lunn Poly to test their "we will match it" claim and they said that I needed proof of the price and they needed a hard copy of the price. I went back to the company and they provided me with this and I went back to LunnPoly who took their time assessing my claims, a couple of days in which I panicked and decided to buy the flight with the ceefax company anyway as all Lunn Poly were going to do was equal it, at the same I bought the insurance with my flight for £20 which was less than half what Lunn Poly had previously charged me. Eventualy when Lunn Poly got back to me there was a problem and they wouldn't be able to equal it, lots of red tape and conditions you see!!

My conclusions from these incidences is that yes Lunn Poly can have some great deals, however there are also other places that do equally good deals and you should still
look around. I expect most of us are not naive enough to blindly follow their signs that tell us they are the cheapest! I would definitely advise you to shop around for your your travel insurance as they are very expensive and although they say you cannot book anything without the insurance I would advise you to take the details, rush off to your nearest post office which do great insurance at low costs and with your documents go back and then book as they cannot argue then!

A good travel agent yes, the cheapest...not always!
