Advantages: Great hotel, good food, excellent organisation

Disadvantages: Price of the coffee in Venice

We recently went on a holiday to Italy with Newmarket Travel and had a great time. We stayed in the Dolomites in a small resort called Fiamme di Castelo at the Hotel Latemar. The hotel was traditionally Alpine with a log burning fire, friendly staff who were mostly made up of family members, excellent Italian food and due to the recent heavy downfall of snow, a great atmosphere at the hotel and in the resort which certainly made us feel very festive.
We had an included tour to the Xmas Markets in Trento and we also had the opportunity to go and visit Venice which we did. The shops and restaurants in Venice were beautiful as they had all been decorated with Xmas festivities, and even the Gondaliers had red Santa hats on !!. I can honestly say that the whole experience of our holiday to this great part of Italy was superb, and even though some of the days were long (but worth it to see Venice) it was thorouhly enjoyable and I would like to thank our Tour Manager Gavin for looking after us and Newmarket Travel for organising such a wonderful holiday.

Summary: A well organised and most enjoyable pre-Xmas break
