Advantages: none over well known companies
Disadvantages: No online facilities - i urge you to browse before buying a teletext holiday
Recently i decided to go to Greece with my partner and unusually said he could make the travel arrangements. We booked through travelbargains after seeing the holiday we wanted on teletext. There is no way to contact them properly other than by phone, no browsing options are fully avaiable. Over the internet their online forms never seem to work. Instead they provided us with several phone numbers and we seem to have spent hours on the phone with them. They could not get us the holiday we wanted, but instead offered us something similar for a little more. We then paid and discovered that actually they had not included transfers to the hotel, a meal on the plane, aiport taxes etc etc. The company also lost £100 of our money somewhere a long the line, luckily i had the cheque registered by my bank as proof of payment and so they had to accept this. I like to think of myself as an experienced traveller and always book my travel online finding deals myself. This experience has been a shock, i feel as though they have truly ripped us off. We have had to add £120 in total on top of what we agreed to pay. When i tried to cancel the holiday they stated that they would take 70-100% of the price and so we are now going on this holiday. But for other consumers - think carefully before booking with travel bargains.

- 04/04/03 Sadly world events are taking there toll on holidays and as usual its the punter who pays. Now most companies charge for transfers, meals and any thing else they can get away with. |
