TERRIBLE Company on Teletext (Teletext Holidays)

I have been using a company called goldtrail.co.uk / Quickstep Travel (both the same company)


I would advise nobody to use this company, as I have had a dreadful time trying to reclaim a deposit that was wrongfully taken from my account.

To add to my problems I discovered that they had swipped my card twice, doubling the deposit withdrawl, leaving me with an overdraft.

The whole problem occured because they gave be a holiday, I was satisfied with, and then called back telling me the holiday was not available as it could not accomodate my family and me. The operater then -in a very pushy sales technique- attempted to offer me other resorts, and even advised me to ask my managment if I could change my holidays. Which was out of the question.

Due to this I did not expect any money to be taken from my account, however I couldn't believe it when £904 had been taken from my account. This company had taken this money, and were providing me with no serivce.

I called, after being passed from one person to another, after no return calls, I eventually reached John- the manager. Who stated that my story on the whole was not true, and that the holiday was always available. Which is outrageous as I have no reason to lie about such an incident.

I decided to call trading standards, who advised me that under the distance selling act, I had the right to a full refund. I had to state in writing that the the holiday was cancelled and I expect the whole amount to be repaid into my account.

When I put this to John the manager, he was not aware of this. He was adament that the money would be taken from my account.

I am still currently attempting to regain the money that is legally mine.


Overall a total nightmare. Do not use their services.
