We owed with Sunterra/GVC/LSI for about 12 years before selling a couple of years ago, on the whole we were happy with our purchase and got to a good many places in the world we could otherwise not have visited.

However I would say when you come to sell you may not realise anything like the value feel they may be worth. But if you feel you have used them to their full potential then you may feel you have had your monies worth as we did, but the 2k we got was not what we expected to have at the end.

Finally the management fees were increasing year on year at an alarming rate and some resorts looked a bit 'frayed around the edges.

The Grand Vacation Club (GVC): BEWARE! STAY AWAY FROM SUNTERRA! THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY! (173 words)

All I can say is BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! We paid $11,000.00 for 3,500 points. Well, 3,500 points is barely enough to get a 2-bedroom resort. The one we did get to stay at was all worn down and dirty. Other times when we wanted to plan a vacation, there was no availability. There are sooooooooo many rules - the one I particularly like is the one where if you don't roll over your points in time, YOU LOSE THEM! We got so sick of the bull crap that we sold our points for a mear $950.00. The sales people are very high pressure and basically won't let you out of the room until you buy - and they fill you with champagne after you agree so when you go to sign all the ...  Read the complete review

The Grand Vacation Club (GVC): Free Holidays (331 words)

Both myself and partner recently attended an evening at LCI Travel in Wakefield. We like everybody else on here received a call a few weeks prior with the promise of a week’s European holiday for about £30 per person. Got to admit I was sceptical, but not as much as my partner who took quite a while to persuade to go along. Well we attended, and to say it was a little bit cheesy (the presentation) would in my view be putting it lightly. All the Holiday Consultants had those orange tans as if they had been on holiday for the last 20 years solid. We watched the presentation and talked over our free holiday with a very pleasant women called Christine who to her credit did ...  Read the complete review
