Both myself and partner recently attended an evening at LCI Travel in Wakefield. We like everybody else on here received a call a few weeks prior with the promise of a week’s European holiday for about £30 per person. Got to admit I was sceptical, but not as much as my partner who took quite a while to persuade to go along. Well we attended, and to say it was a little bit cheesy (the presentation) would in my view be putting it lightly. All the Holiday Consultants had those orange tans as if they had been on holiday for the last 20 years solid. We watched the presentation and talked over our free holiday with a very pleasant women called Christine who to her credit did try and sell us the package, but also pointed out if we chose not to buy, the company would still have to give us our holiday for coming along. As Christine put it 'if its not for us then fair enough, but we may know someone who may be interested'. What they showed in fairness was interesting, and to a certain scale quite appealing, but we felt we could not use it. So after about an hour and half we left and on our way out were presented with our holiday voucher. We confirmed it the next morning and are due to fly to Tenerife on 2nd December for some good old fashioned winter sun. Everybody I have spoken to has received their holiday simple as that, and I would say everyone on this site is mentioning points and huge sums of money they have outlaid. As we were told on our evening, Lci don’t sell points, they only sell a 3 year trial package which if memory serves me right was about £3,000. My view would be, hey if you get a holiday for £30 per person why complain. Take the holiday. Just don’t sign up for anything you don’t fully understand, simple really.
