Advantages: Will match internet prices, Thomas Cook Credit Card is good
Disadvantages: Prices in-store are higher than online... so get them to match it
Thomas Cook is one of the UK's largest and oldest travel agents, offering package holidays, flights and hotels all around the world. We've used Thomas Cook many times for booking our holiday and have been very impressed with them.
Thomas Cook's prices are generally pretty competitive (although not always the cheapest, so make sure you shop around), the booking process is quick and easy and their in-resort service is good.
Tips:
1. Do you research online - look at Trip Advisor and Holidays Uncovered to see what people think about your chosen hotel/area before you book.
2. If you book in-store, get a price from the internet first as the in-store price will almost always be more than the online one. Let the in-store staff give you a price and if it's more than the net, ask them to match it for you. They'll match it, as long as you bring a recent print out with you.
3. If you book online, go through a cashback website such as Quidco (www.quidco.com). You can earn up to 6% cashback, depending on what you book.
4. If you go on a lot of holidays, it may be worth getting a Thomas Cook Credit Card. Thomas Cook give you Travel Pounds on anything you spend on your card - these can then be redeemed for money off future holidays. Also, if you use your Thomas Cook Credit Card to pay for your holiday, they'll waive the processing fee - which can be as high as 2.5%.
5. If you're getting foreign currency, check the rates at other currency exchange shop as they'll almost always match it.
Summary: Good service all round

- 30/05/09 What else would you like me to review? I do all of my research online, so only use the store to book... not quite sure what else I could say? :) |

- 29/05/09 Sorry for rating, but I think you need to cover more than the booking process when reviewing a travel agent. |

- 29/05/09 I went to a branch of Thomas Cook to book a holiday I had found on their website but they couldn't match the price - in fact to book it instore would have cost me £350 more! Needless to say, I booked it on their website. |
