Advantages: All organised for you easy experiance
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest
Hello i have used Thomas Cook a couple of times to travel abroad and both times have had no problems. I travelled to Amesterdam once and also Spain. I booked on both occasions at my local high street branch in Bury St Edmunds.
The staff are very polite and are quite happy to work to or around a budget given to them which is handy for me, and also give a very good idea of what to expect once arrive at your destination. Also all brochures here are free so if you are looking to go somewhere and arrange it yourself these can make good basic guides.
Although not always the cheapest i found their actual value for money to be pretty good. With all hotels and flights sorted for us and living up to expectations. Thomas Cook will also arrange either hired transport for you or a taxi to your hotel and the one time we used this service we were met at the airport promptly. However we found it cheaper to organise this ourselves.
Thomas Cook will also supply travel insurace at competitive rates however we already have an annual Travel Insurance policy so didn't use this service so cannot really comment other than to inform you they offer this.
When you book here you will be entitled to an improved rate of currency exchange with all transactions being free. This also includes if you are buying gifts, as i bought £50 of currency for my parents and told Thomas Cook who i was buying for and they let me know i'd receive the higher rate.
Currency bought as a gift will also be given in a choice of decorated Cardboard Envelope.
Overall very impressed with Thomas Cook I know there are some horror stories about them out there but they've never give me any reason not to use them or complain in any way.
Summary: All Round very good
