Living up to their promise (Thomas Cook)

Earlier in the year I was shopping around to find my holiday for the year (wish it was that long). We knew that we wanted all inclusive, Dominican Republic and towards the end of September. Other travel agents (not going to mention who specifically as I may do an op on them separately ha ha) either picked a date and went through all the places we could go on the one date without looking at what was available a couple of days either way; rushed through the selection so quick it felt like we had been on a roller coaster; or went for the hard sell.

The young girl in Thomas Cook was a breath of fresh air, just about the point I was going to settle for a camping trip in Bognar. She took her time, showed us ALL the options (giving us the time to view, discuss and move on), looked around the date we wanted and was willing to ask her colleages for their opinion on resorts (some of which were dismissed by their comments). There was no push and after nearly an hour we decided and paid a deposit. Throughout the young girl was professional, polite and supportive.

We received a letter around the time of the next payment, just advising it was due.

Another letter from their customer services advising of building work going on in the vecinity. It outlined where and when the work was taking place, whether it was visible or audible and a contact number and name for any concerns.

Finally this weekend we went to pay the balance. We saw another member of staff who was equally polite, professional and pleasant.


All in all the service so far has been professional and a pleasant experience. If the holiday is anything like the service we have received so far I cannot wait (but have to till September..bugger)
