Advantages: Online discount, Thomson coaches
Disadvantages: None
We usually travel with Thomas Cook so last year decided to try something different. We liked the look of a Riu hotel which you can only get to if you travel with Thomson.
We read lots of reviews about the hotel online and decided to book on the Thomson website which meant we got a discount on the booking.
It was easy to make the booking. We chose our destination and dates and the system generated flight times for us. We did have the choice of 3 different times to fly which was useful. We then had to choose which accomodation we wanted, along with if we wanted on flight meals or had excess baggage.
Once we had done this, we entered the passenger details and paid a small deposit and that was it! Done! We had an email 5 minutes later confirming everything.
I'm pleased to say we had a really positive experience with them. Our check in at Birmingham was pain free - bit of a queue which you expect but not waiting too long. Our aeroplane was lovely and clean too and the staff were friendly. Due to early flights we ate at the airport so can't comment on the food on board.
We flew 2.5 hours to Majorca with brilliant choice of TV to watch.
The coach which took us to our hotel was lovely, it was a Thomson coach and had air con, seat belts etc was very new. I looked accross at the Thomas Cook people being loaded onto a battered old Spanish coach and did have a little giggle to myself.
The hotel was just as Thomson had described and the holiday was amazing.
We have a great experience with them and no problems with using them again.
Summary: we found them to be brilliant to travel with
