I have recently returned from a holiday in Lanzarote booked through Thomson Holidays and was sooo impressed with every aspect of the holiday I felt they deserved a good review from me!!!

Originally our holiday was booked through a less well known internet company and received problem after problem with them. It became such a headache that in the end we just cancelled and got our money back so it was back to square one.

After a recommendation from a friend I visited the Thomson website. The website is bright, vibrant and easy to navigate around. As with most other holiday firms you simply enter some details and they show you what is available within your list of requirements.

Details needed are:
Where you wish to visit
Which airport you wish to fly from
Date of Departure/Arrival
Size of party
Type of holiday required (e.g couples, family)
Accommodation (e.g self catering, all inclusive)
How Many Rooms

After just 30 seconds a few pages of closely matched holidays appeared and I sifted through them. We found what looked to be the perfect place for us and was pleased that the Thomson website gave such a useful and detailed account of the holiday on offer inlcuding reviews from past holidaymakers and plenty of photos. Flight times were also included for information.

The booking process is also made simple. Simply fill in their form with details of all passengers and off you go. A large discount for booking through the website instead of through an agent was given to us making the holida even cheaper and generally with Thomson transfers are included - one less hassle to worry about.

For those on a budget its worth looking for those holidays with child free places too.

We placed our deposit and received email confirmation almost immediately. True to their word the tickets were delivered in 'booklet' style 2/3 weeks before departure. Their tickets are great. Included in the booklet are your luggage labels, ticket for departure and arrival and loads of info on Lanzarote and since all persons are on one ticket its less paperwork to lose.

The airport checking in system was also hassle free. We arrived stupidly early and yet the check in desk was already open and no queuing was needed. Weight limits on Thomson flights are 20kg for suitcases (1 per passenger) and 5kg hand luggage (again 1 per passenger). Overweight cases are charged as extra but hand luggage is included in your holiday total.

The flight left on time and although slightly cramped the seats were comfortable enough and the airline staff on Thomson.fly were helpful, polite and friendly.

The transfers were ready and waiting for us upon arrival at Arrecife airport and took us straight to our accommodation in an air-conditioned coach - a godsend in baking heat!!

We had the same smooth journey upon departure from Lanzarote. Transfers and flights were all on time and all reps and airline staff were extremely helpful.

Though we paid a bit extra for our holiday than we would have had to with less well known companies I believe the lack of stress involved with using Thomsons makes spending those few extra pounds well worth it.

After all a holiday is supposed to be a relaxing pleasant experience and Thomson really did make it just that for me. Could not be faulted throughout any part of the holiday.

Completely recommended.

Summary: For a great holiday - book Thomsons
