Advantages: Detailed, accurate.
Disadvantages: None.
I took a Thomson holiday to Spain as the very first holiday I have booked myself and I couldnt fault it. I booked online. I havent been to a travel agents in years and I dont intend to. Im pretty confident I can find everything (and more) than they can online and research at my own leisure.
I booked my Thomson holiday online. I had no idea where I wanted to go, so I searched in my given time range and price range and quite a few ideas popped up. I took a few names of the places they suggested and did my own research, purely because it was all new to me then, but looking back, I could have chosen purely from the descriptions they give as it is plentiful and looking back was accurate.
When you go to book online, they give you a basic price and the price for any optional extras, so it is all clear and there are no sudden adds ons to surprise you when you get to the check out. I find it is very important in my chosing a holiday that the price they first display is the one they end up charging you.
The deatils they show you are plentiful and there are also plenty of pictures. I was very pleased with the description it gave about my holiday. It told me the facilities of the hotel, what the complex offered, what the lcoal area offered and what local customs there were and gave example prices for things in the area. One place I looked at it even stated there may be some noise from a nearby railway. I instantly respected them for that, most tour operators would keep that one quiet!
Overall I was very pleased with thomson, the staff on arrival were friendly, the holiday was cheap and they sold us exactly what they had told us. I couldnt have asked for more.
Summary: Great place to book a holiday.
