This summer I have just experience my fist holiday with Thomson and overall am very satisfied. I have three young boys but my parents were taking them away for a long weekend so my husband and I decided to take a break as well so that we would not miss them. I started trawling the internet, as you do, looking for the perfect holiday. My last holiday abroad was to New York with expedia but the prices of their website seemed a little expense and for some reason I was drawn to Thomson.

The website is just great, really ease to use, with the first page giving you the opportunity to enter the details of the holiday, date, location,number of people etc..then within just a few seconds you get a list of all the accomadation and flight times to choose from. You can sort them into a different order depending on how you would like to view them ie. cheapest, highest rated, how many stars. When you have decided which to view you can click on it and get a detailed description of the hotel,the location and surroundings, and the bit which I found most helpful was the many reviews written by previous holidaymakers. I spent hours reading reviews before deciding where to go and eventually decided on the majestic colonial in the dominican republic.

However, even though I had found the holiday I wanted I didn't really want to book online as I prefere the personal touch of a shop. So I went into my local branch of Thomson and I explained I had found a holiday online but wanted to book in person. Straight away I was told that as long as I printed off the correct details and brought them into the shop then I could book at the same reduced price, I was so pleased.
I paid a deposit and was told I could come in at any time and deposit any amount,which I did until my balance was paid.

Two weeks before I was due to fly I was phoned and told the tickets had arrived and over the phone they took my order for the currency I wanted, which was ready to pick up with my tickets two days later.
The Thomson aeroplane was also very impressive, the seats were arranged two-four-two, so my husband and I sat alone,together by the window even though we had not pre-booked seats. You also got your own personal television in which you could watch t.v. programmes,films, listen to music and play games. There was some of the latest films to watch at an extra charge but there was plenty of choice without having to do this. The food and the service was also to a high standard. The plane departed and arrived without any delay.

We met our Thomson rep on our first morning and we had an hour long meeting with him and just three other couples. It was very informative and we booked two excursions. The rep said he would always be on site for one hour a day and whenever we needed to see him he was always where he said he would be. He was very helpful and even lent us his mobile phone one day so that we could call home.

The two excursions we went on went without a hitch and we met other Thomson reps who were also very friendly.
The holiday was just fantastic,all them hours researching where to go were definetely worth it and the trip back went just as smoothly as the way there.
I honestly have no complaints about Thomson and I think they will be the first holiday company I look to book with every year.
