Advantages: Friendly staff, good hotel, well organised
Disadvantages: In-flight entertainment didn't work
I went on holiday to Cancun in February 2008 eith Thomson holidays and was extremely impressed with the service I received from choosing the holiday to the flight home.
Right from the beginning when I went into the high street travel agent, I was asked what my requirements were of the holiday rather than being told what to do, where to go and what to see. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in the shop and I was able to get exactly the holiday I wanted.
The flights were comfortable and although my entertainment system didn't work for much of the journey, the cabin crew tried their hardest to fix the problem but alas, to no avail.
The transfers to the hotel were waiting for us and very comfortable. We went all inclusive and so were fearful that as Thomson had already taken our money, they would be less likely to want to continue to impress us once we had reached our destination. This was not the case and the reps were also very helpful at the hotel. We were given a welcome meeting where we were advised (not bombarded) on the various trips and events we could attend during our stay. There were a wide range of activities on offer to cater for old, young, men and women. For example, there was an excursion to the ancient Mayan pyramids and also bar crawls and swimming with dolphins. On every excursion we attended, everything was well organised and reasonably priced.
The hotel was also fantastic. Thomson have a policy of regularly inspecting the hotels that they have on their list so I would never have any doubts about booking one of their hotels again.
I am looking to go abroad next year and will definitely by going with Thomson because I believe they provide the best value for money around!
Summary: Great holiday!
