Advantages: helpfull on the telephone

Disadvantages: did not cancel the booking

going back to August last year (2000) I booked two holidays through the same travel agent. one was for november to Majorca, the other was to Tenerife in may 2001, My girlfriend & I went to Majorca and had a Fabulous time (apart from the Weather), when we returned to England, we has to cancel the second holiday cause my girlfriend fell pregnant (thanks to Majorca), we were unable to get any deposit back (£200 approx). which I thought was discusting. well I didn't do anything else cause i thought it was all taken care of when 10 weeks before i was due to go, i recieved a call from the travel agent telling me the balance was now due for the holiday i cancelled, i have now been left with a cancellation charge on top of the deposit i already lost, the moral of this story is please please please do not cancel a holiday package, it has now cost me nearly as much money not to go than it would have cost if i had gone.

You need to go back to your travel agent as your insurance should cover cancellation due to pregnancy...it did for me

Welcome to dooyoo, it's irritating when something like this happens but unfortunatly is often unavoidable :(

Hi! Welcome to Dooyoo. I think the lesson is that you have to read the small print & comply with the cancellation regulations. Best wishes for the future - Kay
