Advantages: Bad website design
Disadvantages: The online submission process is terribly designed
I recently got married and had set-up a wedding list with Trailfinders. I thought this would be good as people could make contributions online. Lots of guests and family live abroad, so the online facility was a selling point.
However, I found out that a friend had made a contribution but I hadn't receive the vouchers from her. I contacted Trailfinders who admitted that they had problems with their website. They told me that I needed to contact my friend and ask her whether the money had been debited.
I started to think that this could have happened to a number of guests and soon found out that it had. I phoned Trailfinder again, who said that they had no record of a family member having paid. I did not get an apology or explanation eventhough they put me in a difficult position, as it is very difficult and embarassing for me to contact every guest to ask them whether they have made a contribution or not.
I feel that I have lost out as I am not going to embarass myself or my guests and famiily by asking them whether they have contributed or not (and it is quite possible that someone at Trailfinders is pulling a fast one, pocketing my wedding gifts).
I have been in touch with Trailfinders several times since and still no apology or compensation. Whatever you do, don't set up your wedding list with Trailfinders
Summary: DO NOT use Trailfinders for your Wedding Gift List

- 24/03/06 i really like trailfinders and generally end up booking my flights with them. i didn't know they did wedding lists though and this story is quite disturbing, as you say it would be very embarrassing to check with guests whether and how much they contributed! |

- 29/11/05 It would be great if you could add an introductory paragraph telling us a bit about the company and what they sell before launching into your experience with it - it would help to give the review some more context. |

- 29/11/05 That is so true, a similar thing happened to me one year ago. What really frustrated me was that they just didn't admit that they were wrong. Trailfinders stink! I use to buy my flight tickets from them when I went to the U.S. and Mexico but I haven't bought anything from them in the last year. |
