Advantages: Excellent prices, Loads of info, Speedy delivery

Disadvantages: Can't think of any!!!

I'm organising for myself and some friends to go to the USA in September for a holiday, and as we aren't what could be described as well off, we want to do things for the best value (not necessarialy cheapest, although cheap is good) that we can.

We had decided to fly using American Airlines, for various reasons. Things like direct flights, and they have most legroom, which is handy when you are 6 foot 5!!

Anyway, looking around on the internet a while ago we could get the return tickets direct from American Airlines for about £270. All nice and good. But, as is always the way, things took a while before our plan was agreed, and when we came to book the tickets, guess what?? Yes, you got it, the price had gone up, and not just a little. Tickets were now in the region of £470. A £200 price rise!!!

No way could we afford that much! So some scouring of the internet ensued....

Our findings were that we could still get plane tickets for around the original £270, but not with American Airlines. Also the flights we could get were not direct, and the planes have less legroom :(

Then we stumbled across travelbag.co.uk. Did a search on their site for the journey we wanted, clicked search, hoping that possibly we would find something affordable that offered direct flights, as we weren't too keen on spending hours sat in airport lounges in some remote place.

Lo and behold!!! It came up with the exact American Airlines flights that we wanted, for the original £271. I can honestly say that I got quite excited!! Quick phone calls followed to check that everyone wanted to book the tickets, and then out came the magic piece of plastic, otherwise known as my credit card.

A few days later the postman rang the doorbell at an unearthly hour to get me to sign for a nich shiny silver Special Delivery bag thing. Opened it up to find inside the plane tickets and invoice, along with a few leaflets and things.

>So, excellent price, speedy delivery, but what's the site like?

The site itself looks quite nice. Once you search for flights, it does get a little bit messy and confusing, but if you read all the explanation bits, and use a bit of common sense, selecting the flights you want doesn't take you long.

Once you choose which ones you want, the ordering process is nice and simple. ALl the usual stuff. Give them the names of who the tickets are for, delivery address, credit card details etc...

When you have booked the tickets they send you an e-mail containing details of what you have booked. At this stage the booking is still provisional. Within 48 hours you then get a firm confirmation e-mail. You also have access to a site which shows you information about your trip when you put in your booking reference. It tells you what seats you have on the plane, if they are reserved seats, what type of plane, departure and arrival times, length of the flight, and what the weather is currently like at your destination!!

Overall I was really pleased with the service, especially with the really good prices. I would definately reccomend you take a look when booking flights. I have only used travelbag to book flights, not hotels or anything else, so don't know what their prices in that respect are like.

I'm checking this site out right now! Could come in very handy in the future! Thankfully I'm a wee smurfette so don't have any leg room problems on flights! :D
