Advantages: one of a kind ride, kids love it, inexpensive, comfortable and enjoyable

Disadvantages: none

The Wonderbus tour is fantastic, especially for children. It looks like a normal bus by any account but shaped like a boat in attractive eye-catching colours of blue and yellow with pictures of dolphins on either side. We saw one when we were out and about, naturally by the shape and the colours my son spotted it first and was very curious to try it out. As he had insisted so much we decided to take him on the Wonderbus experience. Booking the tickets was very easy, which you can do in a number of ways, we booked througth the hotel we were staying at but you can also book online, from the Wonderbus main office or at any travel agents in Dubai. Only two tours operate per day at 11am and 4pm so you are free to choose and book around which tour you want to take. The Wonderbus has been manufactured in New York and is truly one of a kind both for what it is and the experience.

The tour begins at the BurJuman Center and you must reach there at least 15 minutes prior to the tour start time otherwise you may not get a seat! You get into the bus by stairs that are pulled out and which you have to climb up as the bus is quite high raised. Inside the bus you have very spacious and surprisingly comfortable seats. The bus has the capacity to seat 44 passengers. There are lifejackets under every seat but the bus has been approved for safety. The bus has an internal bathroom and refreshments are served during the tour of Dubai. There is also a large TV in the bus that shows you glimpses and trailers of Dubais attractions and of Dubais history and how it has evolved. You may be intersted in watching the TV for a while but trust me you will not have time to watch once the fun starts. As we had seen the bus on the road we did not know it then goes into the sea! The tour continues along Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Rashid Roads past Zabeel Park to give you a glimpse of Wafi City Centre, Wonderland and other places of interest the bus then goes into the water. When this happens everyone seems to ooh and aah with surprise and excitement on their faces, especially children because they simply cannot wait for the bus to go into the water.

The bulk of the tour is spent in the water and the ride is quite smooth, you continue to see the sights of architectures and the historic buildings on the both shores of the creek and are free to take photos. The amphibious bus is fully air conditioned because if they left the windows open everyone would get soaked by the impact the bus has when it goes into the water.

You are brought back onto the road and a short ride back to the BurJuman Centre where your adventure initially began. The tour takes two hours. For an extra 30 dirhams you can be dropped off to where you are staying in Dubai, this also applies for pick up.I can assure you that this tour is not just for children because the adult will feel exhilerated too. It so aptly fits in with Dubai thus being something you would probably only see in Dubai. The tour was worth every penny in every aspect from the service you get, tour, comfort and enjoyment from the tour. Something that the whole family can enjoy.

Summary: This is a ride that is out of the ordinary, you travel both on land and in the water.
