Ted Baker Normar
by jjrose
Ted Baker is a nice brand that produces stylish and chic bags and clothings for women. Some of their products are a bit of hit-and-miss but I do love their flowery print and lady-like designs. However, as you all know, Ted Baker do tend to price their products on the high scale, which means I don't really tend to buy their products much. ... This doesn't mean that I don't enjoy receiving Ted Baker products as presents. Therefore, I was really pleased to receive this Ted Baker wash bag and a shopper as a christmas present last Christmas from my aunt.
The wash bag I received is from the Ted Baker Normar range. The appearance is just like the picture shown above; the wash bag is spacious and decorated with a simple bow. The wash bag is made of synthetic PVC with a glossy finish. According to the manufacturer's description, the capacity of the wash bag is H11 x W18 x D10.5cm; personally, the dimensions are alright for a make up bag but comes off a little bit small for a wash bag. At the front, it has simple and elegant writing of 'Ted Baker London', and has a sweet two-tiered ruffled bow. The wash bag comes in a variety of colours: it comes in bright pink, glittery bronze and simple black colour combinations. The one I have is just like the one shown in the picture.
I've done some research and I found that these wash bags are retailed for around £22.00 plus possible delivery charges. However, I think they have discontinued this range; Ted Baker still brings out wash bags with similar designs made from the same material every year. So, similar wash bags are on sale and can be bought from various retailers such as John Lewis, Debenhams, House of Frasers and so on.
From my experience, this bag makes a very good make up bag for a short break/holiday. Due to the PVC material and the glossy finish, it is very easy to clean up the foundation spills and stray powders. Also, it is waterproof, which makes it very convenient to put it in the bathroom sink while I'm fixing my make up. However, I do find that the bag capacity is a bit small to be a proper wash bag. If i put all the necessary make up tubs and bottles, it just about fit all the elements I need from my foundation bottle to mascara, eye make up, brushes and highlighters. Therefore, I wouldn't be able to fit shampoos or conditioner bottles, even small size. This mean I tend to carry two bags, one for make up bag and another one for shower necessities/toiletries.
Overall, this is a very wash bag/ make up bag for a short trip. I wouldn't pay £22.00 for a wash bag because it is just simply expensive. However, receiving this as a gift is very nice and I do get a lot of use out of this bag. It would make a nice present for someone as well as a nice treat for yourself.

Typhoon Foldable Lightweight Shopping Trolley
by thehonesttruth
I purchased a wheeled shopping trolley when I moved house, as it put me only a few minutes walk away from the big supermarket, a distance that made spending money on a bus or cab back with my shopping seem like a waste (not forgetting that I live on a 'walk' and cars can't get near my house). I wanted something quite funky, and also ... something that was fairly lightweight and compact when empty, and ended up with the Typhoon foldable lightweight shopping trolley.
These come in a range of attractive designs - spots, florals, butterflies, apples. I selected the striped design, as I found the assortment of bright colours very catching (it reminded me of Paul Smith designs), and also because I have striped wallpaper in my kitchen, so I figured it would match a little when hanging up. Its a really good spacious bag, made of a thick fabric that seems like it would be incredibly durable against any wear and tear, with capacious pockets, an adjustable handle, and even a cooler section for my frozen bits. It has a opening that can be tightened with a drawer string, and then covered by the flap that sticks down with velcro - I do think it could do with a bigger patch of velcro though, as the wind does pull at the flaps a bit. When empty, it weighs just 2kg, which is surprisingly light considering the sturdiness of the frame.
It's easy to pull along, the rubberised wheels can cope with most surfaces, whether they be smooth or uneven, although I did find that I struggled with this in the recent snow. The handle is a comfortable length, and has foam insulation for a more comfortable grip. It is also able to stand on it's own, which makes it much easier to pack after doing a supermarket shop. Naturally with the insulated section at the bottom, you need to pack your frozen/chilled good first if you're going any distance, and this chilled section isn't that big, although as I'm only going to take 5 minutes to get home this isn't too much of an issue.
I'd be lying if I said I could get a weeks food shopping for a family of three plus pets in this bag. But I can get three or four days worth, which is good for me as I like to go twice a week to pick up fresh items, Certainly if this were being used by an older person, or someone only shopping for a couple, this might actually be big enough for the whole week.
Folding this down is fairly simple, and it becomes small enough to easily store on the bottom shelf of my kitchen cupboard out of sight. I have found other trollies that do fold up smaller (in fact I have one) but I've found the wheels tend not to be good on those, and the frames aren't structured enough to make pulling easy. Ideally I would have wished for this to have been more compact, but you can't have everything.
I paid a little under £30 for this. It's not the cheapest pull along trolley on the market, but having purchased a cheaper one that didn't do the job, I've accepted that you get what you pay for . And £30 really isn't that bad for something I can see lasting me for years - especially when it's paid for itself is saved bus and taxi fares already. Overall, a good little wheeled bag for trundling back and forth from the shops- perfect for almost any weather, tough and hard wearing, better for the environment than plastic bags, and stylish to boot! Cath Kidston Weekend Carry All
by carlz2001uk
I love handbags, shopper bags, any bags really, but have an extra special love for Radley and Cath Kidston bags! They are slightly more expensive than a bag you would find on the high street but I think they are definitely worth it. Aside from they look fab, Cath Kidston seem to make really sturdy and durable bags which are well made ... to boot.
One of my favourite Cath Kidston bags is the carry all bags which couldn't be described any better. It isn't for one particular purpose but can be used for anything. I often use mine as a weekender bag for the children, and it will easily fit an outfit each, pyjamas and their toiletries. Equally I have been known to use it for storing work papers in while I carry across sites.
The durable oilcloth has become a firm favourite with me since having children! I have had my carry all bag for ages now and have used it countless times but it still looks new despite having yoghurts spilt on it, being dropped in a puddle and being sat on several times by two little bottoms! The wipe clean material is perfect for keeping it looking new.
The two sturdy handles mean weight isn't really an issue with these bags and you will be more restricted with how much you can fit in it as opposed to the weight of what you are putting in it.
Coming in a range of different patterns and colours, I have a pale blue one with strawberries all over it which is exceptionally cute and girly! There are also polka dot ones in blue or green and every now and then they seem to bring out a different patterned one. I know I have seen people carrying these bags in patterns I haven't seen in the shops.
For £24 I think they are really great value. Occasionally you may find one in the shops with a few pounds off the RRP but even at full price I think they are well worth it and can be used for so many things.
