Cath Kidston Book Bag
by nimnim
I am an absolute fan of most of the Cath Kidston range, and this bag is no exception, I have it in three different designs, 'Spot', 'Bleached Flowers', and another floral print covered in pink dog roses. The bag is a wonderful size to take to university which was my primary purpose for purchasing it, and it measures 33 cm (wide) 38 cm ... high, and 8 cm deep. This makes it the perfect size for a large lever arch file, or books from the library (plus those all important 'bits' such as pen and bottle of water).
The bag has a long ish strap that means it sits comfortably under my arm, and rests against my hip. I find this useful so I can still have my hands free, while out and about and as such I find it a very useful bag to take to town with me, as I can easily throw any small purchases into it. I find it's great as the straps do not 'slip' down your arm while you are doing thing.
The bags that I have are all 100% PVC covered and can be wiped clean - I have never noticed them marking noticeably and two of the bags that I have are predominately pale in colour. Cath Kidston's range has so many beautiful floral, and kitsch style prints in it there really is a design to suit almost everyone. At the time of writing they are available on line for £18, which is very reasonable considering how hard wearing they are.
They are really supposed to be 'shoppers' I suppose but I have to admit they are lovely to use in the summer - when you may want to cart around a bit more in the way of junk (I mean essentials - such as sunscreen or cold drinks)... Read the complete review |

RNLI Regatta Bag
by SusanLesley
Here I am again with another review about a lifeboat product. I told you that I would keep coming back with more didn't I? It comes from us having a shop here in Llandudno where we can stock a much larger range of products than we could when we just had a stall on the promenade.
The one that I am going to tell you about today ... is the Regatta Bag which costs £14.95 in the shop although, if you were to order it from the website at www.rnlishop.org.co.uk , you would have to pay an extra £3.95 to cover the cost of postage and packing.
The bag itself measures 35cm high by 47cm wide and 13cm deep or if, like me you still can't think metric, that's 14 inches by 18.5 inches by 5 inches. It has two long blue carrying handles, which are reinforced for extra strength, so that the bag can be carried on your shoulder.
The bag is made from hard wearing polyester and is split into thirds with the left hand third being blue in colour the middle third is white and the right hand third is red in colour. It is lined in white with two open topped inner pockets - one set in each side.
The whole thing zips across the top by means of a blue zip with red tabs to keep the contents safe and there is a further zip pocket on the white part of the outside of the bag. This one also has a blue zip with a red tab so they both fit in smartly with the rest of the bag. The red, white and blue theme is also strong this year with it being the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
As with all the bags sold by the RNLI this one is really strong and would be ideal for shopping or for taking your bits and pieces to the beach. It looks really smart as you can see in the picture at the top of the review.
I tend to use mine when I go into town and need to take things to be posted and / or paid into the bank. Then I have it to carry whatever bits of shopping I do whilst I am there.
So there you are - yet again it is an excellent, well made product which will look good and do the job well and of course by buying it you will be indirectly helping to save someone's life. Read the complete review |

Adidas Essentials 74cm Large Teambag
by anwar7
Whilst on holiday in France a few years ago I realised that all my new purchases were just not going to fit into my suitcases. The obvious solution was to buy another bag! I didn't want to spend a lot of money and as my car boot was already quite full with my other cases; I needed a bag that was soft enough to be squashed down! I decided ... to take a look in the local sports outlet to see what they had on offer.
After much debate I finally decided to buy a large oblong Addias bag as it looked good and seemed to offer decent quality for its price tag. I can't remember exactly how much I paid, but this bag is on offer from several retailers in this country including Amazon (£23.40) and John Lewis (£ 28).
This is quite a large bag with a capacity of 80.8 litres. It measures 70 x 32 x 32 cm and is made of tough polyester. There are two side pockets as well and the main compartment in accessed via a zip opening. There is a long main strap and two centre fabric handles that are secured together with Velcro. I really like the black and grey colours of this bag and the white familiar Addidas logo finished it off nicely. My son has used this bag to carry his sports equipment as it looks cool in his eyes!
I have been using this bag for a few years now and have found it really useful. Although hard sided cases are probably stronger, being rigid they can't be squashed into small spaces in my boot- a consideration when you need to pack several cases! Soft bags like this one are also very useful for taking on caravan or R.V holidays as once emptied they can be squashed up for storage.
The zips are the things that usually fail on these types of bags, but this one seems well made and all zips are still functioning. The polyester fabric is strong and the bag shows no sign of wear, even around the edges of the bag. For air or train travel I would prefer a bag with wheels for easy manouvering; however this one is great for car travel!
Overall I think this is an excellent bag for the money and hope it will give me many more years of service! Read the complete review |
