Advantages: Don't appear poor quality, affordable, varying sizes.
Disadvantages: Flimsy, not built to last.
I would love to say I fly all over Europe but the stark reality is that I don't. I do, however, make many trips away for weekends across the UK and like to keep my belongings in order. One product I were particularly on the lookout for was something to protect my freshly pressed shirts and suits whilst on the outward journey. We have all seen them before, protective sleeves for carrying your best clothes in whilst still on their hangers. I found a set of three at Argos for £11.99 so just had to try them out.
The 'garment carriers' are made from thin, lightweight PVC which looks quite shiny and has a silky feel to it. When I first opened the bag I noticed the strong smell of plastic, so there were no getting away from the reality that these are not top-notch garment carriers. Two of the garment carriers are of a smaller size than the third, and are useful for carrying items such as shirts. The third carrier is best suited for carrying your suit in as it is more generously proportioned. The smaller sizes measure 91cm x 58cm x 7cm, The larger carrier is 120cm x 58cm x 7cm. They seem reasonably well sized and comfortably accomodate my shirts and suit.
The black with grey detailing is a bit boring, but I think this does a good job at hiding their real value. They don't look particularly expensive but then they aren't, so you can't complain really. To use the carriers you simply take your shirt (or suit) on the hanger, unzip the carrier and feed the hook of the hangar through the top of the carrier. It really is very simple.
After a few months of use I have noticed a few small signs of wear and tear. The zips are quite flimsy, as is the overall build quality of the garment carriers in all fairness. The garment carriers are made from flimsy material and it doesn't take Mr Clumsy to soon find their weaknesses. The Argos Three Garment Carriers offer good value for money. Ultimately you get what you pay for with this product.
Summary: Cheap and cheerful garment carriers.
