Argos Set of 3 Garment Carriers
Advantages: The larger bag does what it is supposed to and keeps my suit crease free and protects it
Disadvantages: The smaller bags are no good at all and I think it is expensive for just one usable bag
I have owned these garment bags for ages and in all honesty I forgot that I even had them until a couple of months back when I was looking for another garment bag and found these in the attic (the other garment bag never did appear). I didn't actually buy these as I had rescued them from my mother who was planning on binning them and never one to allow something to go to waste I said I would have them and even though they gathered dust for God knows how long I did eventually get around to using them.
I was going to a wedding in Wales and needed something to put my suit in to in the car to stop it from getting rumpled and creased on the journey down and finding these was perfect as the other one I was looking for was a tad small for my suit and this set comes with a perfect suit sized one.
The carriers are a set of three and there are two smaller bags and a larger one for suits and dresses. To be honest the smaller ones are of no use to me as they are too small for my shirts to sit in comfortably so I only actually use the larger one. It is just the right size for my suits as well as an extra shirt or two for emergencies.
They are made of PVC so are perfect for transporting clothes in with our horrible weather. I carried my suit around in the larger one for a good ten minutes while we looked for the venue where the wedding was held and I was a little bit worried that my suit would have got wet but the bag managed to keep it completely dry.
I originally only really wanted it so that I could hang it up in the car on the journey down so that my suit wouldn't get creased and they all have a hole in the top so that hangers can be placed through them for easy hanging. I have to say that the carrier did an excellent job of making sure that my suit stayed crease free. It also had the added benefit of stopping my suit from smelling of smoke as both myself and the passengers were smokers and there was no way I was making it all the way to Wales without a cigarette.
I am now using the larger carrier to house my best suit in all the time and it is now hanging up in my wardrobe protecting it from damp and as I also share a house with a large and extremely hairy ginger tom cat I know that I can go to my wardrobe and take my suit out whenever I might need it and not have to worry that it will be covered in hairs like almost everything else I own.
I had a look online to see how much these carriers were now selling for and I see that they are £12.99 which seems a bit much considering that for anyone over 5 foot the smaller bags are going to be too small for most clothes to stop them getting creased and for me personally only the larger bag is actually practical.
I would recommend these bags but I would make sure that you know that the smaller bags may not be suitable for everything and you are probably only going to get much use out of the bigger one. As I didn't actually pay for these I can't really complain about the price but if I was buying them myself then I might have a look around and see if I could get a separate larger carrier on its own cheaper without having to buy the whole set.
