Advantages: Really light and spacious
Disadvantages: Not the best looking bag
I bought a set of Tripp luggage when it was on offer in Debenhams. All the luggage was available to buy individually so I bought a couple of different sized suitcases and also a holdall as at the prices they were available for I thought it would be worth my time to make sure that I had the right case for the right situation. The holdall is the perfect size for an overnight trip or for a weekend away. I think that if you are a light packer then you might even get away with using it for a week's holiday as it is really quite spacious.
The holdall is made from a soft polyester type of fabric which really does make it incredibly lightweight. I really appreciate this as I like my luggage to weight as little as possible especially when I am using a holdall as by the time my things are all in it they can become quite heavy which can cause problems for my shoulders and back.
The fabric is also really thick and I feel quite secure in putting in my more fragile possessions in it such as my laptop and camera. I don't think it would handle being run over by a truck or anything but for the odd knock your things will be fine.
Storage inside the holdall is really good and it holds a surprising amount of things. It is deep and although not huge there is plenty of room for quite a few clothes. The thing that sold me on the holdall though was the fact that it has some separate pockets. I hate putting my passport in the main part of a holdall and having to scramble to find it but this has a separate pocket where I can just keep my passport, wallet and boarding pass so I can find them easily.
The handles are easy to hold and carry and it also has a shoulder strap that can be adjusted to the desired length.
I only paid £20 for this holdall which I thought was great value. It has come on a few trips with me now and has proven to be excellent quality and even though I am not the most careful of people it still looks in great condition with only a few scruffs on the bottom of it.
The only bad thing about the holdall that I can say is more a personal thing than any actual problem with the holdall. I'm just not keen on the look of it and think it is a bit ugly but the convenience of the space that it offers and the lightness of it more than make up for this.
If you are looking for a good quality lightweight holdall then I can highly recommend this and the entire superlight range.
Summary: A good bag for a weekend away
