Advantages: Advice on everything

Disadvantages: One persons view

As I'm planning to travel Europe for the first time for a month or so this summer I am currently reading as much as I possibly can so that I'm at least some way prepared for my journey.

I came across this book as it was recommended on a web site as offering good advice for the first time and any time traveller. Am I glad I got it!

I'm not going to sit here and say that this book is Gospel, because it isn't! However what it offers is advice on everything you could possibly think about in terms of travelling by someone who has been and done it on more than one occassion. They tell you of their experiences, where they went wrong the first time and where they still go wrong! Items that are essential items that you might want to take and items that you definately don't want to take.

There is information on how to get there, the best way to get around, experiences of the different kinds of public transport, which passes to get for things like museums, when things are free and when they are expensive. There is advice on the types of packs to take, how much stuff to take and essential on security for your belongings and advice on how to look after yourself and keep out of trouble.

The person who wrote the book is from America to the information is based towards Americans going to Europe, but other than the advice on how to get to Europe and where are good places to buy certain products, the information in the book is good for anyone!

As I said it's one persons view and it's not going to work for everyone, but it's worth reading as it's based solely on his very own experinces of travelling and I would defy anyone who couldn't find anything of use in this book!
