Buying books before you go is a good idea to get a rough guide of what it is going to be like but do not completely rely on them to tell you everything. The people who wrote this book missed out some vital information and I guess everyone writing travel books will do the same as it is a hard task to manage to get everything into a small book.

I believe, after having been to South Africa twice now, that a book can only tell a person so much about a place. Before my first trip I was given 2 different travel books about the place and read them very carefully to see what it was going to be like but it didn't prepare me enough for what I was about to experience.
