I have inserted my comments in square brackets. ---------------------- Re: Travel Insurance Claim We thank you for your recently received claim form. [Always nice to see a little gratitude for having taken the time to fill in those awful things] We would advise that we are unable to proceed further with your claim made on this occasion. ["We 'would' advise?" I thought that 'was' the advice.] Whilst we are not unmindful of the circumstances surrounding your claim, it is noted that you did not report the loss within the time limit and provide a written loss report and we th... more

having recently purchased insurance from Atals direct, thankyfully did not need to cliam, however since then they had debited money from my account for the same amount for no reason. Following this up about 10 times via email with their customer services as they do not take take phone calls and nor did they respond to any of the emails. Finally I wrote to the Financial Ombudsman Service to alert them of this and it was their action that got Atlas to respond. Apparently for the customer service lady who eventually spoke to, she said it was sytems failure that occurs regulary and most of us would have not noticed the missing monies from our bank acounts. Personally I feel Atlas are diliberatley taking advantage of their customers banks cards takeing monies form the account hoping the customer does not notice.

Why do we buy travel insurance? Is it that our wallets are too full and we simply want a safer alternative to burning our cash, or is it because we want peace of mind and something to fall back upon if the worst should happen? For the vast majority, I imagine (and hope) that the latter applies. The quality of an insurance company is defined not by its prices, but the way in which it resolves claims. In most cases, it's unlikely that you'll need to claim; as such, you may never find out how good that insurance really was. Were you really protected, or was it merely an illusion? Put your hand up if you've ever read an insurance contract from cover to ...  Read the complete review

We have held annual multi-trip travel insurance with Atlas for almost four years. We have always paid a bit extra (about £17) for the Platinum cover which means you don't pay any excess. I price-check the premium each year to ensure we're getting a good deal based on the level of cover that we want - but it does annoy me that they automatically renew your policy and charge your c/c - especially as, every year, the renewal cost is higher than if I were a new customer. So, each year I email them to say I don't want it to be renewed, and just get a new policy at the cheaper rate. Someone else mentioned their customer service call centre staff aren't great, and I would agree  Read the complete review

me and my family was stranded in florida last month for an extra 8 days with no help from airlines or atlas insurance basicaly their policys are not worth the paper thats its written on ash cloud should be covered under adverse weather as the volcano was in iceland but the wind blew the ash cloud all over the place the goverment should step in and force these companys to pay up and noy use any flimsy get out clause they can find so my advice to anybody thinking of getting insurance with atlas is pay a little extra as the saying goes YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR SHAME ON ATLAS

I had a problem when I went on holiday last month. I sent them email 20 times and called them 20 times to get a claim form.they always say they already sent it out to me.I called them again to ask them to send one again as I had never recieved the claim form.they always said the same they already sent out. I told the address so many times and they told me there were no mistake in my address. but still I have not recieved the form.I wonder has anyone ever got thier claim ever. Cheap insurance but if they would not pay customer's claim then what is the insurance for???Should if I should keep on calling them or call the police to report this company.
