Advantages: EASE OF SETTING UP COVER

Disadvantages: READ THE SMALLPRINT , CAN'T ASK ALL QUESTIONS OVER THE PHONE WHILST JOINING UP, EXCESS £50+ 10% WEAR AND TEAR

We have had a worldwide,family,yearly policy with Boots for 3 years and have never had to use it.
My son had his pay as you go phone stolen from a locked hotel roon in Amsterdam. Filed the claim when i got home and they said they would send out a claim form....they didn't after a week phoned again and they send the system must have been down and eventually 2 weeks after my phone call i had one to fill in.They needed original receipts so all be carefull if like me you don't keep everything.But as the phone was newish did find it .
The whole claim took 4 weeks (minus item for this time) They also took exess off £50 PLUS 10% wear and tear...So i only got back a fraction of the £159.00 the phone cost,could not replace with the same phone and had to get a inferior older model.This i feel is unfair had i had claimed through my household insrance i would have got old for new but i thought that this wasn't fair to do as i pay travel insurance to cover my families belongings whilst i am on holiay.I WILL NOT BE RENEWING WITH BOOTS TRAVEL NEXT YEAR
