Direct Travel InsuranceNewest Review: ... was straight forward from there on in. Claim paid in full, no problems. We paid the doctor our excess and everything else was taken care of through my claim. I even got a courtesy call on my return to make sure I was home and asked if I was well. The claim form was sent by post but I did not receive it. I phoned to inform them after a week or so from my return home and I was given the choice of having the form a emailed to me immediately for my convenience. Will definately buy from Direct Travel again. Highly recommend this company 100% satisfaction. The staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful and it felt like they really did respect ... more |

We had a very poor experience with Travel Insurance Web when it came to making a claim. My wife suffered complications in early pregnancy and we had to cancel a trip. Travel Insurance Web eventualy rejected the claim on the basis that we knew she was pregnant when we booked the trip. It would have been nice to know when taking out the insurance that they view pregnancy as a pre-existing medical condition. If that wasn't possible, it would have been good if they told us at the beginning of the process - not 4 months (and countless communications) after we reported the cancellation. Keep awy from Travel Insurance Web. They advertise that they are cheap ... and they are.

I used this Direct Travel Insurance for two years running for my travel insurance needs. They provided the cheapest quote for a reasonable range of services - all the essential medical stuff but slightly lacking a low excess in the package I chose. I uncovered them after reading a newspaper article and insurance comparison websites seemed to confirm the good value. Paperwork and sign-up were quite straightforward. At one point I did have to claim for a camera I had broken on holiday and that was not a problem. I was sent a claim form which I filled out and sent back. I received replacement vouchers within a couple of weeks so no complaints about the processing ... Read the complete review

Do not even think to contact these people by phone or email. Those quotes are much higher than what you find online. Upgrading your policy is a rip off. Also-the discount you get to renew your policy is worse than simply taking out a complete new policy.
So-great company-but avoid email/phone contact!

According to recent survey done by a reputable bank ... * one in three people suffer some kind of problem whilst on holiday * eight per cent had lost their luggage * six per cent had to cancel or cut short their holiday due to unforeseen circumstances * a number of people had personal items or their money stolen * eighteen per cent of people suffered a holiday disaster but could not claim because they had no insurance So, knowing these statistics combined with the fact that my husband and I go on 4+ holidays a year, I decided to embark on finding us the best travel insurance we could at a reasonable rate. But, ... Read the complete review
