Advantages: free, good level of cover

Disadvantages: Egg card users only

Good old Egg - they just offered me free travel insurance for a year! I don't know what I did to deserve it - it's probably cause I use my Egg credit card a lot.

The offer runs from 1st October 2001, includes individuals, couples, single parent families and families, and covers the following:
- Medical expenses including emergency repatriation - £2,000,000;
- Personal liability - £2,000,000;
- Personal accident, death or disability - £25,000;
- Cancellation and curtailment - £3,000;
- Unexpected redundancy - £3,000;
- Baggage and personal belongings -
Overall limit - £2,000
Any one item - £250
Valuables - £500
Delayed luggage (outbound) - £150;
- Loss/theft of money (cash) - £250;
- Hijack - £1,000;
- Delay -
Up to £100 compensation for delays exceeding 12 hours
- Missed departure -
Up to £600 additional accommodation and transport charges

Egg's basic family worldwide policy costs a minimum of £82, so this is well worth taking advantage of if you're an Egg account holder.
