Advantages: Easy to use website
Disadvantages: Unless you pay extra to insure excess you'll get very little back for a claim.
Easy to use website and good price. I booked one trip travel insurance with them last year. I was able to insure my son who hadn't even been born at the time of booking our flights.
Unfortunately we had to make a claim as son was hospitalised at three weeks old when we should have flown out to show him off to grandparents in Paphos. Go Travel Insurance were fantastic, really helpful on the phone and sent all the documentation out to make a claim really quickly. We needed a letter from the hospital explaining why we weren't allowed to fly which the hospital provided at no cost (insurance would not have covered payment for evidence letter). The whole matter was dealt with within two months of his illness, probably would have been quicker but we managed to get a late flight when son had recovered so we were gone for a fortnight whilst claim was proceeding.
Only downside was how little we got back. There was a £50 excess per passenger (there were 6 of us travelling) and fuel surcharges weren't covered by the insurance either (of course, these make up a sizeable chunk of the flight cost!!). All of this information was in the terms and conditions so I wasn't 'ripped off', but I learnt a hard lesson. Nowadays I always pay extra to insure the excess as well.
Summary: I used this company to get Quidco cashback, but lost alot when I had to claim on the insurance.

- 31/08/08 It's nice to read a review where the "small print" hasn't resulted in a negative review! Glad your son is better and you had a good break. That the insurance paid out easily is also good to know! |
