Insure and GoNewest Review: ... was in my main bag. When my main supply failed, I had to go to hospital in Greece to get a new batch. Back in London, I was told (BY THEIR SUPPORT LINE) to submit 2 claims, 1 for essentials and 1 for medic cover under the same policy. They rejected the medical claim (full doctor + medial receipts) saying it was my fault for not having a spare set (IN MY LOST BAGS!!) ... as for the essentials ... more |

InsureAndGo.com is a shocking and cynical rip off. I was robbed on holiday in India. I lost £1,000 worth of the items that you would reasonably carry with you on a holiday: SLR camera + zoom lens, ipod, etc. I got a police report and I do have all the original receipts for these items too. But after checking the policy small print, I see that it states that all these items count as "valuables", and insureandgo.com will only pay out a total of £200 for "valuables"!!! So I lose £800 already. Yet the policy states I can claim up to £1,500 for stolen baggage. Therefore I can still claim up to £1,300 for my non-valuable items (towel, toothbrush, ..). Who would keep receipts for these things? What a joke. This is bordering on fraud. I feel totally cheated.

Like many others on these reviews - rubbish policy, complete waste of money...
Been buying their top-end insurance for years (who's the mug?), and this year for first time had cause to claim for a watch stolen out of our hotel bedroom. What a faff to supply all the info they need (incurring lots of registered post costs), and then they came back and told me they don't cover unattended personal possessions !
Remember to pack everything every morning and take all your belongings to the pool with you if you take out one of their policies!
Rip-off - do not buy their policies...

Airline lost my luggage for 5 days. Had to spend about 100 euro on clothes and essentials until my bag was returned (HALF what was "allowed" under my "cover"). My spare insulin was in my main bag. When my main supply failed, I had to go to hospital in Greece to get a new batch. Back in London, I was told (BY THEIR SUPPORT LINE) to submit 2 claims, 1 for essentials and 1 for medic cover under the same policy. They rejected the medical claim (full doctor + medial receipts) saying it was my fault for not having a spare set (IN MY LOST BAGS!!) ... as for the essentials claim, 3 weeks later I got a letter saying I'm suppose to claim from the airline ... I've been with Insureandgo for 18 months and done a lot of travelling but never needed to make a claim. Monday morning (02/02/09) in London I was due to go on a coach tour in Europe only to realise that I couldn't make the journey across London to meet the coach to get to Dover, customer services for both the tour and insureandgo did not open until the same time that the coach was due to depart. Finally I get through to the tour company to be advised that I need to get to Dover at some point during that day otherwise the trip would be considered cancelled and to contact my insurance company to look at cancellation cover for poor weather ... I had to claim money for travel cancellation due to pregnancy. I had a talk with their customer service who provided me a claim number. Filled up their form, and got my money within couple of weeks. No questions asked.
Piece of advice: Read the policy documents and fill up the claim form very very carefully. Supply them with the proper documents. If your claim is valid (as per Insure and Go's policy), I am sure they will provide you the money.
