Advantages: Good website, Tailor your options to tweak premium, Cheap

Disadvantages: I'll tell you if I ever need to claim

Ever heard someone say that the proof of the pudding is in the eating?

Well, I have been buying travel insurance for many years, and have never had the misfortune to make a claim or seek assistance. I hope very much that I never need to.
So I am writing this review not having "proof of the pudding."

There was a time when I just ticked the box offering insurance when I was booking a flight. We all knew that this was expensive, but we all did it. Since proliferation of the internet, I have found so much choice, and insure-and-go seemed perfect.

In the past, I have paid upwards of £30/40 for a couple of weeks in North America or Asia, and £95 for an annual multr-trip policy.

Insure-and-go have a really easy to use website. You can choose the duration of the policy, and see the premium increase and decrease slightly as you select/deselect options, dangerous activities, include baggage and money, double excess etc. You can even choose policies with or without the USA and Canada. I expect to travel around Africa and Asia next year, so this reduced my premium significantly.

The site accepts credit card payments, and your certificate etc is emailed as a pdf file, so you can print it straight away (useful if you need insurance at short notice)

As a result of this, I am paying a similar figure for my annual multi-trip cover as you would for a high street 2 week package. OK, I may not get all the trimmings that go with other policies, but the medical, legal, accident, repatriation awards are as good as any other, and that's what really counts.

Repatriation awards? Anyway, sounds like a good idea!
