used them once for travel insurance - will not do so again - for any product or service they automatically take the money for continuation of the policy - they say its all in the mountain of paper work which it may well be but to take money on the assumption you want to continue is the same a theft especially as it is done by credit card. i fill my up with fuel regularly but i don't expect the garage to take money just because i purchased there previously. there are enough companies offering insurance so it is there loss not mine
Well, I decided to check these guys out after seeing them on tv. Their advert seems good - search the market yada yada.
Once you have cleared through the pop ups and bypassed all the adverts and marketing pitches, the site seems to do what it says on the tin.
That is, until you have entered all your details. Be careful what they do with your personal data - I was spammed after I gave them my email address (check out www.mailinator.com).
The 'results' page seems to give you prices to the best insurers but they don't seem to match what the insurers say on the phone. Be careful if you buy online, read the small print and once you get a feel for the market, go direct to the insurer.
I saw an advert on TV recently in which this website was being suggested as a perfect way to shop for insurance, mobile phones, financial products and many other things. I decided to search for a new mobile phone and without much hassle found a great deal on a Motorola L6 through Virgin Mobile. I also wanted to find an inexpensive quote for home/motor insurance and viola there it was without any real problems and in no time at all. The website is divided into 6 easily understandible subsections within which lies the different quotes for each category. They are easy to scroll through and find what you want.
Moneysupermarket was launched in December 1999, with the aim of making it easier to compare financial products and services for the aim of saving people money. The advantages outweight the disadvantages:
> Money Supermarket endeavour to compare the whole market and not just markets where the providers give them money.
> Many hundreds of Loans, Credit Cards and other products etc
> Has market best deals just like food supermarket deals
> Moneysupermarket.com was the first website in the UK to offer a credit card with 0% for 18 months for balanced transfers
> Saves time
> Gives the user control
>I have noticed that many other leading sites use the Money Supermarket search engine and also other loan searches on the internet use the money supermarket search engine, this can cause a monopoly, where certain financial companies are failing because of the power of other companies advertsing on Money Supermarket. (if you want to know which leading websites Money Supermarket are involved with go to about us on the Money supermarket website)
To conclude, Money Supermarket is an excellant website because it doesn't just search for affiliate companies where they will be paid, they search the 'whole market', however the power of Money Supermarket, the advertsing of less known websites are unlikely to be as succesful, questioning the extent that it actually searches the whole market.
