Advantages: easy to sign up

Disadvantages: they take money on assumption you want to continue

used them once for travel insurance - will not do so again - for any product or service they automatically take the money for continuation of the policy - they say its all in the mountain of paper work which it may well be but to take money on the assumption you want to continue is the same a theft especially as it is done by credit card. i fill my up with fuel regularly but i don't expect the garage to take money just because i purchased there previously. there are enough companies offering insurance so it is there loss not mine
