I got my Post Office travel insurance on the day of departure of my trip. I just popped to the post office before setting off. Once I paid, I was covered. Simple as that.

However, one cannot rate an insurance company without making a claim, which I did. The claim process is fairly straight forward. I called up the helpline number, and a few days later, the claim form arrived.

After I had sent off the claim form with all requested documents, I got my cheque of £550 within 2 weeks. There were no further letters or phone calls requesting anything else.

I would recommend anyone requiring travel insurance to consider the Post Office. Yes there are cheaper insurance policies out there, but from my experience, none had been this easy to claim from.
