Advantages: Fast and very comprehensive cover.
Disadvantages: ?
To many people the Post office is just somewhere that handles our mail or for some perhaps cashes their benefits but to others it is of course much more especially these days where the Post office now offers phone and broadband packages.
I do not use them for my broadband or the likes but I did earlier this year use them for travel insurance. I needed to be covered almost straight away and as my hubby and I are getting on a bit we are very particular about what our travel insurance offers.
The Post office travel insurance covered us for ...
Medical emergency and expenses up to £10.000.000 (outside the UK)
Personal accident up to £30.000
Personal Belongings up to £1.500
Personal money (including foreign currency) up to £500.00 (£250.00 cash)
Cancellation and curtailment up to £5.000
Legal advice and expenses up to £25.000 .... And a fair bit more besides.
The best thing about the Post office insurance was that there was no waiting as soon as I had signed I was covered and as we were leaving within a few days of looking for cover this was excellent.
The woman I dealt with was extremely helpful and very pleasant as the staff at my local Post office always are and this is one service from the Post office that comes highly recommended by me!
I cannot comment personally on how claiming with them would be because thankfully I did not need to but I can tell you that a very close friend of mine had to claim medical expenses after a fall and she was paid out without a problem and very quickly to the tune of £7.000 and I am sure this would always be the case with a company like the Post office!
Summary: A pleasure to do business with!
