Disadvantages: NONE I CAN MENTION
Travel Insurance and Travel Money
Post Office travel insurance is brilliant and you can arrange this online or in the post office. The price is one of the best around and the coverage is extensive. We all need insurance whilst travelling as who knows if one should have an accident, miss a flight or lose money or luggage. I wanted also to review travel money but I could not find a separate travel money section so I have written a few paragraphs below:-
I am also hoping to help some of those people who travel aboard on holiday. Businessmen and women are more than likely to be aware of the pros and cons of exchanging their sterling.
Firstly if you have a computer go to gadgets and install currency converter for a quick check on how the currency is doing against your pound. I travel to Turkey regularly and find it useful to have the exchange rate on my laptop and when it is at a good exchange I order some Turkish Lira.
The best thing to do all around is to change your money whilst in the destination country - you definitely get a better exchange rate. If you like to be organised and do it before, as mentioned above, keep an eye out for an increase. You then need to see who is offering a good exchange. I have found that the Post office is extremely competitive and you can order it on line and pay with a debit card (co charges). You can then arrange for either delivery to your home (registered post) or you can pick it up at your local post office.
Just one point, if you use the post office the exchange rate is higher online, so order there.
Don't forget to have the Abbey Zero credit card for all other purchases abroad.
I hope this helps someone.
Happy holidays ;-)
Summary: CHECK OUT THE POST OFFICE WEBSITE BEFORE YOU BUY ELSEWHERE

- 25/06/09 I'm sorry for the low rate but your review is not about this product (as you yourself have stated).
If you can't find the category you want to write in use the Suggestions facility to get a new product suggested rather than posting in an incorrect category.
As this is general advice on Travel Money it may be better under Speakers Corner.
If you need any help to get your review moved, feel free to ask. |
