Don't waste your time and money with Rapidinsure. I didn't realise how bad my policy was until I actually made a claim. After originally telling me I could claim for my MP3 player with an excess of £100, they then reckoned that anything dropped or spilt carried a £250 excess, it's in the small print somewhere. Isn't that why we buy insurance, in case we drop or spill something ? For this awful cover I was paying a whopping £414 for buildings and contents, the lowest excess was £100. I have since got several quotes with much better cover, with a £50 excess, for much less, some below £300. The general guide is, high premium - low excess. I have been looking online for the best deal for a years worldwide travel insurance for Two people and Rapidinsure seemed like the best deal. My parents use rapid insure and paid around 65 pounds last year for a couple and when i looked at the site it was about 78 pounds for a couple... however, the site was 'down' for several weeks before Christmas, in fact, I think it was over 2 months in the end and after a few weeks they told me it was becuase the company was in the process of being taken over and they had to move offices. Personally I am very dubious about purchasing items online. Not because of the security factors (I don't know enough about it them to judge), but because I don't fully understand how it all works, and what do you do if they take your money but don't send anything? I did decide to give it a go though because my friend had said that most internet pages had to be secure and safe to use to be able to publish.
