If you are looking for cheap travel insurance, then yes tesco may fit the bill, but be warned people, they don't like to pay
I have just had a claim refused for cancellation to the tune of £5000

We had to cancel our honeymoon due to father in law being diagnosed with lung cancer

I don't know how they sleep at night

Every Little Helps indeed

Mind you they did offer £100 for the way they have handled the case

In Summary,

Tesco Insurance is not worth a carrot

Summary: Really BAD Service

Tesco refused claiming that we knew about the illness before we took out the policy
This simply was not the case, we found 3 days before due to travel
We got the insurance to start on the day of travel, an annual policy (this probably wasn't a smart move)
Tesco may have a point, they claim I refused cancellation cover when I ordered the thing, 3 months prior to travel
Tesco stated several times they would pay out, then gave several reasons why not, each time I proved them wrong.
They finally settled on the you knew before you took out the policy

When we found out about the illness, 3 days before travel, we contacted tesco to see if we would be insured, and they said, no problem etc etc,

Tesco have found a reason they can backup, but they do not tell you that when I bought the policy even tho I paid full price, I didn't actually get a full product.

So people be warned, you have to nail tesco's hat on before they nail yours!

Have never had a problem with Tesco myself but I know that you really have to read the small print with any insurance company as there are certain things they list which you are not covered for - such as had your father in law had tests previous to you taking the insurance out as this could have had an effect. I know it seems unfair especially at this difficult time and I can sympathise as my friend's mother has lung cancer at the moment but often claims are refused because you simply don't have the correct level of cover.
