Me and my partner took a recent holiday to Salou in Spain. Tesco Travel Insurance was the cheapest deal so we decided to insure with them. What a mistake that was!! Just before boarding our return flight to the UK our plane was struck by lightening meaning we couldn't fly. Thomas Cook, the airline we had booked out holiday with, were a ...

Lost Baggage Claim on Tesco Travel Insurance
Kim Allen raves about Tesco travel insurance, but doesn't tell us how good they are in the event of a claim!!
We took out basic travel insurance and had to claim for lost baggage. Had everything I needed to claim, religiously kept all receipts, tickets, proof etc. etc. and it has so far taken 15 months of terrible communication and inefficiency. Give me a little insurance company with one contact to speak to anyday!!
Yes they are cheap, but that they also have a lot of customers and it shouldn't mean that the claim process is so unprofessional.

Tesco Travel Insurance: Do not buy Tesco Insurance (174 words)

Please don't buy Tesco travel Insurance. We took out cover for a year and while in Italy I had a phone call to say that my mum was very poorly and obviously we wanted to get back to the Uk as fast as we could. Our tour rep was brilliant getting us back to our hotel from Venice so that we could contact Tesco. It was the worst 24 hours ...

tesco travel insurance- don't waste your money! me and my wife we're conned out of nearly two hundred pounds while on holiday in cuba, by a man dressed as a travel rep, tesco won't pay because we gave over the money willingly- so apparently fraud isn't stealing anymore- also they won't give us anything for a days lost holiday. We gave tesco our ...

If you are looking for cheap travel insurance, then yes tesco may fit the bill, but be warned people, they don't like to pay I have just had a claim refused for cancellation to the tune of £5000 We had to cancel our honeymoon due to father in law being diagnosed with lung cancer I don't know how they sleep at night ...

I have a spinal stenosis, and my husband has heart disease and, as we're both pensioners, were were finding it almost impossible to get cover for travel in Europe. We were either quoted ridiculous premiums (£ 150 each in one case) or refused cover on the grounds of 'pre-existing medical conditions which might necessitate repatriation'. ...

Holiday insurance is a must but it is so expensive. We looked around for not only a cheap one but one that was cheap and gave us a good deal if anything went wrong. We found it with Tescos of all places. Tescos has really brought the price of travel insurance down and it is so easy to arrange. Once you have ...

Looking for single cover travel insurance this week, I stumbled upon Tesco Travel Insurance, who were quoting me just over £40 for a week and a half visit in America. This was certainly one of the best online quotes I received, with only Asda being cheaper. However, when you look at the actual sums insured, the Tesco insurance was better value. ...

Today I asked for a quote for annual family travel insurance. This was worldwide including North America. We travel to Europe and Canada. The quote included a 5% discount because I am a Tesco Clubcard holder and is valid until the end of June. There is £35 excess on all benefits. They want £101.32 and the underwriter is UKI Insurers who are ...

A lot of people plan their own holidays now instead of through an agency. You can buy the air tickets and accommodation separately but you must have good insurance. I wanted a cheap insurance but I also wanted a good one. On telephoning around everywhere I could think of, and reading opinions, I tried Tescos. It was so easy to ...

Being on a tight budget when purchasing a holiday to Singapore from Premier Holidays, we decided to shop around for travel insurance as Premier were asking £50 each for the 10 days and the travel agent we went through could only offer £59 each!! We checked out Nationwide insurance which was better as we could get a deal for two people for ...

On having to have to purchase travel insurance separate as not doing the trip through an agent we had to phone around to find the cheapest. Admittedly Tesco was far down our list of get quotes from. Having had quotes vary from £80 to nearly double that in travel agents we finally telephoned Tescos. For what I needed they were £58. ...
