Advantages: Twin strimming lines and auto feed means you get the job done faster.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
First of all I hate strimming, but sometimes it just has to be done. I think part of the problem with our old strimmer was that the line kept breaking about every three yards. It drove me crazy! It wasn't auto feed so you had to keep feeding some more line through manually. It was time to get a new strimmer!
I admit I wasn't the one who chose this, it was my husband and he had specific criteria he was looking for. The Black and Decker GL652SB really answered all his requirements:
Adjustable height
It has a telescopic mechanism which allows you to set it to a comfortable height. There are a choice of three height settings.
Twin Strimming Lines
This means it cuts twice as fast, saving time! It has a line cutting speed of 10400rpm
Auto Feed
Automatically releases more strimming line, when the line snaps.
Edge Trimmer
Press a switch, twist it and you've got an edge trimmer, with an edging guide This is great for creating a neat edge to your border.
400W Motor
Another thing that was important to him being a man is MORE POWER! And this has certainly got it.
25 cm Cutting Width
Covers a wider area.
Other nifty little features it has are a second handle for two handed strimming, cable retainer and onboard cable storage. It also came with goggles and spare cable spool. There is a two year guarantee.
Altogether this is a great strimmer that does what it says on the box. It's a much quicker strimming job, leaving time for a cuppa on the patio. My husband's a very happy man.
Summary: An efficient gardening tool that makes life easier.
