Advantages: cheap, good cut, twin spool

Disadvantages: bit heavy, not easy to replace spool

UPDATE...................WARNING......
After only a few weeks of use, about six times. I'm afraid to say that the motor burnt out in a puff of smoke. I was only strimming a small area of garden, Which was not that bad. It should have been a piece of cake for a strimmer. My last one lasted over 10 years doing the same jobs. I also noticed that the auto feed was to easy to activate while using strimmer wasting cord.
I'm sad to say we will be sending this one back and not ordering another. Although it started well it got worse over a short time, I would no longer recommend this strimmer.

My old strimmer has finally worn out the bearings after ten years and now sounds like an MOT failure with a blown engine. So it was time for a new one. We chose the JMB GT-250-300, No that's not a high speed motorbike its a twin spool self adjusting trimmer.

This trimmer is a bit bigger and heavier than my old Black and Decker but does not feel as steady or as solid. A small amount of assembly was needed, The foot/strimmer guard and a steadying handle which fits on about half way down the stem.

The self adjusting spool works by pushing it down on the ground and turning it on for a second. Wire is released and the excess cut off by a blade on the guard. These wires can sometimes break inside the spool housing, This means cutting the power and disassembling the spool. Not always easy. It was a pain with my single spool Black and Decker, You need two pairs of hands. So avoid those stones.

My biggest problem is the cable, Can someone tell me why you only get 6 meters of cord. I had to use 2 extension cables, Both of which were being used elsewhere. Do the same companies that make trimmers also make extension cables? And want you to buy both.?.

The trimmer does a decent job and is easy to use, Then they don't really do that much. The guard may be a little bit to big as it seems to get in the way sometimes.
When going around posts and plants. . You can twist the steadying handle around so you can turn the trimmer over and do the edges of the lawn as well. For £20 this was quite cheap so I suppose I can put up with a few little niggles

Specifications:=
Power input.....250 watts
cutting diameter.....30cm.

This isn't good. Better luck with your new one.

Its been replaced for a new, so we'll see if this one is OK. Time will tell. My Black & Decker lasted 13 years and you could plough a field with it and it kept on going.

Sounds like a no-good product, only being used about six times!
